Andrew Sussman is a Senior Attorney with WHGC. With decades of experience in federal and state courts, Mr. Sussman represents clients in complex business disputes, insurance coverage matters and high-stakes commercial litigation.
Mr. Sussman’s practice spans trials, appeals, pre-trial and dispositive motions, and alternative dispute resolution. He has handled litigation involving complex real estate transactions, commercial property development, intellectual property, unfair competition, fraud, trade secrets, entity governance disputes, cannabis production issues, entertainment industry disputes, and international import/export business dealings. He also advises on insurance coverage disputes (including first- and third-party claims), class actions, and multi-jurisdictional litigation.
Before joining WHGC, Mr. Sussman served in leadership roles at different law firms, where he grew California offices for national and international practices and supervised junior attorneys representing international clients across U.S. jurisdictions. His career includes a track record of significant victories, including being part of the team that secured a historic $39+ million judgment against an insurer for wrongful failure to defend an antitrust counterclaim to a patent lawsuit—the largest judgment of its kind not involving insurance bad faith.
In addition to his business litigation work, Mr. Sussman has an extensive background in insurance coverage law. He has represented international business professionals from Iran, China and Taiwan, as well as Fortune 100 companies, insurance carriers, real estate developers and professionals, entrepreneurs, recording artists and cinema chains, in courts throughout the U.S.A. He has lived and worked internationally, including in Iran and Afghanistan.
